House whacking in Quincy took a new as well as ominous destructive turn last week.
Per a Citizen Journalist, a Capital Waste Services‘ trash truck is said to have whacked a house on Goddard Street in the Penn’s Hill neighborhood of Quincy during the regular weekly trash pick-up.
Apparently, someone forget to set the parking brake or however otherwise trash trucks are supposed to be set to stay put so as to facilitate trash loading and the truck so instead rolled into the whacked house’s front porch.
Fortunately, no one was injured even though the Citizen Journalist reported that the homeowner was in the house at the time of this latest house whacking in Quincy.
Unknown at this point, however, is if Capital will be hauling away the debris caused by its truck’s house whacking on top of paying for the damage done.
The city where even the trash has a mind of its own. Who knew ‘curbside pickup’ meant picking up the porch too? I guess Capital Waste decided the best way to handle the city’s waste is just…bring it all down with one truck at a time.
Honestly, what’s next? Street sweepers leveling lawns? Snow plows relocating driveways? Seems like we’re just a few mishaps away from having our recycling bins do demo work on the whole neighborhood. Maybe we should add ‘porch removal’ to the list of Capital Waste’s services—at least then it’d be intentional!
