First up of significance was word of a malware cyber attack that was successful given a hacking of City Solictor James “DIm” Timmins’ email account and which was — amazingly — admitted to Quincy Quincy News staffer by someone in Dim’s office.
Those then inflicted with malware because Dim apparently failed to practice safe e-security include not only other city employees but also many locals whose email addresses were obtained by the hacker.
Other city departments infected included the public libraries, public health department, police department, and who only knows what all other departments.
Speaking of cybercrime, multiple media reported on how a recently hired rookie non-teaching school department employee was walked out of Atherton Hough Elementary School by Massachusetts State Police officers and as well as suspended from his job.
No word, however, if he was suspended with pay.
Further, no word was provided as to the cybercrime(s) committed or if there are any suspected ties to the (latest, ed.) malware hack attack of the City of Quincy computer network
Even so, Quincy Quarry News was able to scoop its media brethren when it was exclusively able to report that the suspect is an eighteen year old male who was recently hired as a school janitor.
And for the money shot, the South Shore broadsheet broke work of how at the end of the day the State Ethics Commission is the actual player that has pressed for deferring the impending fat raises for the mayor and city council members as well as that there is ample good reason that more shoes will be dropping over pigging out at the public trough.
