Quincy Quincy News, WBZ 4 and WCVB Channel 5 were among the first to report on how a recent hire at Atherton Hough Elementary School was escorted out of the school by Massachusetts State Police last week over suspected but unspecified cybercrime activity.
Boston 25, Quincy’s weekly tabloid, the South Shore broadsheet, and WBZ 1030 then followed up with their own respective coverage with all of this coverage thin — other than the always critical coverage by Quincy Quarry, that is — as all of this media coverage was essentially but a variation on the limited statements out of the Quincy Public Schools superintendent with even less informative statements out of the state police,
Now, however, Quincy Quarry has exclusives to scoop its media brethren.

The scoop? Via two different well-placed sources, Quincy Quarry News has been dimed with word that the now on suspension school department employee is an eighteen year old male who had only just recently been hired as a school janitor.
Next up, Quincy Quarry News hopes to discern how such a young person was hired as a school janitor.
For example, how connected he may be given that scoring a school janitor job is a prime hack hire opportunity for someone who is less than skilled as well as in this instance by someone so young.
Let me get this straight: instead of focusing on, you know, math, science, and keeping crayons out of each other’s noses, we’ve got cyber criminals roaming around the playground now? It’s like Quincy is gunning for the top spot on ‘Dateline: The School Edition.’ Can’t wait to see how this plays out. Maybe next week’s curriculum will cover password protection and digital ethics —- classrooms today are looking more like cybersecurity boot camps than ever!
The custodian was never arrested. HE was playing an online video game and opened an attachment that was sent to him. He then forwarded the same attachment to someone else. This alleged crime happened in june of 2024

An investigation appears to be ongoing and arrests are not always instantaneous. As near as can be discerned, the individual is still suspended. Next, as you intimate being privy to particulars, what was the game he was playing and what was the attachment all about such that apparently it resulted in the State Police taking action? Finally, reports would appear to indicate that he was hired on as a school janitor after June.
