On an otherwise quiet and pleasant fall day, things rapidly ramped up to one of the most frantic levels of police radio chatter ever heard by Quincy Quarry’s senior Citizen Police Scanner monitor given a shooting incident.
At 4:11 pm today, word of shots apparently fired in the vicinity of 99 South Central Street at the base of Wollaston Hill hit the Quincy Police radio channel.
A loaded handgun was then found nearby at 93 South Central.
Radio chatter indicated two black male suspects with one of them tall and the other fat.
In the vicinity of 177 Farrington Street and thus near the Wendy’s fas tfood restaurant on Newport Avenue in North Quincy, probably the passenger in the car jumped out of the car and the car then abandoned at 148 Farrington.
Especially troubling, a second loaded gun was apparently found in the abandoned car.
Further, a jacket was said to have been abandoned 106 Stafford.
Police thus had at least four crime scenes where evidence from spent rounds to loaded guns to abandoned items ranging from clothing to an abandoned ride sporting Ontario Canada plates.
Police established a perimeter taking in a number of blocks around 177 Farrington Street, police K9’s were brought in, and police canvassed residences around the crime scenes for home security video to aid in their search.
Quincy police also reached out to the MBTA to hold both Red Line trains and buses for police screenings.
Finally, while unclear if anyone was shot, an ambulance was on station and then called to the initial incident scene.
Given the rush of breaking badly bad news, Quincy Quarry News’ ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry continuing to follow this incident and report updates as appropriate.
For example, if the suspects might end up arrested.
Guess the Mayors idea of Gentrification for the City of Quincy, still won’t prevent such crimes from happening.
I guess the weekly traffic jams and endless construction projects just weren’t cutting it anymore. Next thing you know, we’ll be hosting our own CSI: Quincy spinoff. I can already picture the plot: a dragnet that involves more Dunkin’ runs than actual police work. Can’t wait for the follow-up, ‘Quincy Quarry News: Traffic Delays Due to Over-Caffeinated Cops Chasing Imaginary Suspects!’ Maybe we should swap out those new apartment complexes for some real-life crime-solving experience.
More and more like Brockton every day
Do not worry. A loaded handgun was found at the scene and when it gets traced to its legal owner by the Quincy Police they will arrest the shooter. Oh, the Quincy Police have not yet thought about tracing the found loaded handgun back to its rightful owner yet?
