The Quincy City Council returned after a near three months long summer vacay.

In short, a sweet gig for what is a well-paid very part-time gig, not to mention one with an expected 50% raise coming.

Council members had surely hoped that local taxpayers would have lost their ire over the council grifting themselves a 50% raise after knuckling under to provide an 89% raise on a pension calculation basis for Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch without holding a public hearing.

They were mistaken.

Wicked sorely mistaken

Over a hundred locals showed up to protest the raises in front of City Hall before the council meeting and then they headed into the council hearing and so further underscore their displeasure.

Needless to say, the council was not pleased to see them.

In particular, the council president was even snippier than usual.

Then again, such was only to be expected after less than week earlier he had finished a very distant third in a three candidate race for the GOP US Senate nomination to then likely end up cannon fodder challenging incumbent Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Then again, Massachusetts Republicans have long had a Thanatos problem.

The councillors also may well have literally dodged bullets care of an out of towner who was not happy about some locals calling on the Quincy City Council to consider endorsing a call for ceasefire in Gaza.

The council, however, punted when it chickened on merely but motioning the proposal along for a vote.

And for the wrap before this week’s Friday the thirteenth, the best Quincy Point package store was whacked in arguably the strangest motor vehicle building whacking ever in Quincy.

How strange?

Not any was the driver probably not operating under the influence, she was apparently not even looking to have been planning on making a liquor run.

In short as well as yet again, Only in Quincy
