Quarry Quarry News is curious to hear how things are going for any of its ever-growing legions of loyal readers who opted to go along with the City of Quincy moving them into the City of Quincy’s Community Electricity program featuring electricity provided by Dynagy instead of National Grid.
For a few examples, was the transition to Dynagy seamless, have monthly electric bills dropped as was touted by the Koch Maladministration, how goes customer service, etc.?

Community Electricity—that grand experiment where we’re all supposed to save money and the planet, right? Well, color me unimpressed. Is it just me, or did anyone else’s electric bill shoot through the roof while we were busy patting ourselves on the back for going “green”? Nothing like feeling eco-friendly while your wallet cries itself to sleep.
Sure, I’m all for renewable energy, but at what cost? Because apparently, the answer is “a lot more than what you were paying before.” But hey, at least we’re reducing our carbon footprint while inflating our utility payments! Who needs affordable living when you’ve got wind turbines and solar panels to admire?
And let’s not forget the stellar communication. Every email I get about this program is like a riddle wrapped in a mystery, sprinkled with a dash of confusion. Oh, my rates are fluctuating again? Neat! Can’t wait to decipher what I’m paying for this time.
But sure, Quincy, it’s totally working out for me—if by “working out” you mean I’m becoming a professional at finding extra side gigs to afford my new electric bill.
Nope. My bill was huge. I am opting out!
