When you are out of beer, tough Düff!

The dog days of summer continue to dog it.

Fortunately, the traditional end of the weekday workweek this week was International Beer Day!

Needless to say, while most any day is the right day for a cold one, a Friday during a muggy heatwave is especially apropos for quaffing a pint or three.

Plus, one might want to take the edge off after a week of incidents only Quincy Quarry had the stones to report

The first of the (known) incidents was word heard over the Quincy police radio channel of what sounded to be some sort of violent domestic dispute.

How violent?

An at least seven police cruisers and three ambulances responded to the scene incident.

The second incident involved someone who is assumed to have been casing residences at a Quincy Housing Authority residential facility for disabled seniors around midnight Tuesday night.

In other words, among the lowest of the low for burglars.

Purported perp

Even worse, the alleged perp purportedly crossed the line by threatening with a handgun a disabled resident who asked why a much younger person was wandering about the housing complex in the middle of the night.

Fortunately, Quincy police were called and are said to have quickly rolled up the alleged perp as well as seized his handgun.

Unfortunately, the pistol packer is said to have then been cut loose by a judge in Quincy District Courthouse on a $500 bond and residents at the disabled seniors residential complex are thus understandably nervous.

And as for the final newsworthy event of the week, it was word that Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch and Republican former Acting Governor Jane Swift came out to endorse Quincy City Council President and Ward 3 City Councillor Ian Cain in the Republican primary for the Republican nomination for one of Massachusetts’ two US Senate seats and so become cannon fodder against incumbent Democratic incumbent Elizabeth Warren in November.

Good luck with that, not to mention so also bearing the curse of Mayor Koch’s Medusa Touch.

That and perhaps other things hitting the fan in coming weeks..

After all, many a local politicians has found herself and especially hisself spanked.

Spanked hard.
