Always — ALWAYS — let a sleeping dog lie

After all of last week’s crimes and multiple misdemeanors, things went quiet in Quincy.

For Quincy anyway.

Then again, we are heading into the dog days of summer.

Speaking of dogging it, the Koch Campaign finally took down the signage at its former reelection campaign headquarters on Hancock Street in Quincy Center where Good Health used to sell healthy food and other things healthy.

Amazingly, Team Koch thus actually abided by a local ordinance.

Will wonders never cease?

In this case, the local signage ordinance which mandates removing storefront signage when an organization ceases operations.

Something which the Koch reelection campaign ceased months ago after buying last fall’s elections.

Then again, it does appear from Koch Committee campaign fund reports filed with the Massachusetts Office of Campaign and Political Finance that the committee had other more pressing expenses to fund before it was able to finally address taking down the offending signage.

After all, why spank itself?

Not in public anyway.

Fortunately, there was one bright note this week: Wednesday was National Peach Ice Cream Day!

Even better,Quincy has per a poll the top-ranked place for ice cream in the South Shore! and it offers a limited seasonal supply of fresh peach ice cream.

Needless to say, given the recent spate of hot weather business has been boffo at this popular local ice cream purveyor.

Speaking of heat, per Quincy Quarry News’ Citizen Police Scanner Monitor, things may have been heated or at least something out of the ordinary at the North Quincy Fire Department’s fire station Tuesday evening.

Just what, exactly, who the Q knows way as the chatter on the Quincy police radio channel was oh so curiously moved to discussing privately over cell phones.

QQ disclaimer
