A one-time head of the Boston police officers’ union who also was a longtime resident of Quincy but apparently now resides in Yarmouth was recently sentenced in federal court to two years of house arrest. He had previously “… pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit theft concerning programs receiving federal funds and one count of embezzlement from an agency receiving federal funds.”
While unclear at this point if this overtime pay grifter will be losing his pension given his sentencing, as a former union boss one can only assume every effort will be made as well as strings pulled so as to endeavor to save his monthly kiss in the mail.
Accordingly, Quincy Quarry News’ ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on the Quarry to monitor the situation and report updates as might be appropriate.
In the meanwhile, it is only reasonable to suggest that there must be something in the water in Quincy as a now-former Quincy Police Department lieutenant would appear to have been the first police officer to have been bagged by the feds in recent years.
Be sure to note that the Vice President of the United States makes $235,100 a year. In turn, Quincy Mayor Koch would have to take a pay cut to become the VP!
That and also keep it in mind how most of the crooks in Quincy are elected or appointed.
Looks like someone took “protect and serve” a little too literally when it came to serving themselves. It’s almost poetic how the one who once led the union is now in a union of their own – with fellow inmates. I guess crime doesn’t pay…unless you’re the one committing it, and then it’s just a matter of time before the paycheck stops and the prison jumpsuit starts. Bravo, Quincy, for being the backdrop to yet another “you can’t make this stuff up” story!
