— News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
The recent modest rainstorm overwhelmed Quincy’s sewer and drain system such that yet again the waters along Wollaston Beach have been red-flagged over sewerage-caused pollution and thus closed for recreation by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation.
In turn, such baits further confirmation for the City of Quincy ending up hit with a hundred million dollar fix-it consent agreement with the United States Environment Protection Agency to address local sewerage spills into the Boston Harbor.
In any event, with a heavy rain forecast for tonight into tomorrow such will likely only extend the sewerage pollution along Wollaston Beach, if not also at other local beaches, for at least a few more days just as we all head into the Fourth of July holiday and official kick-off for the summer vacation season.
