Wednesday past was (School, ed.) Crossing Guard Appreciation Day.
While Crossing Guard Appreciation Day is not an official National Day as near as Quincy Quarry News’ archivist could tell, such is no excuse for the Quarry to have been tardy at formally feting those who risk their lives each and every school day on the ever-increasingly mean streets of Quincy to protect local school children.
As such, Quincy Quarry can only hope that now featuring the Quincy Police Department’s timely formal appreciation mitigates the Quarry’s oversight at honoring school crossing guards on their day.

After all, in spite of how it has become all but open season for pedestrians in Quincy, as near as the Quarry’s archivist can tell no Quincy Public Schools student has been injured while under the care and protection of local crossing guards.
