Gutted for renovation or just gutted?

While out and about on the ever-increasingly mean and recently cold streets of Quincy, Quincy Quarry News personnel found the City of Quincy Welcome “C nter” (sic) closed up tight as well as trashed.

Then again, perhaps the Koch Maladministration-controlled Discover Quincy tourism operation is  planning to re-remodel of its Welcome C nter what with the maladministration having just scored $600,000 in seed money for Quincy 400 activities yet to be actually set.

After all, Quincy 400, a curiously claimed to be quatercentenary for Quincy is fast approaching even though Quincy did not become a town until 1792 when it seceded from olde Braintree,

That and so concurrently continuing the administration’s history of profligate spending and which has often variously ran over budget and/or late as well as more than occasionally further problematic.

In this instance, spending who only knows what in the way of tax money to makeover a perfectly serviceable as well as previously renovated space in the Munroe Building.

Additionally curious, this building was unilaterally bought by Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch with taxpayers’ money a couple of years ago to eventually level so that he can then erect yet another Edifice Complex even though the City Council had already voted against the purchase given close to tenfold more in follow-on costs

Alternatively, if his expected second try to press his Plan A founders, Mayor Koch has floated perhaps to then flip the property to a developer even if such a sale would not appear to be compliant with how the property’s purchase by him was funded.

No word, however, as to what is planned for the massage parlor that is an ongoing tenant in the city-owned Munroe Building.

After all, surely public officials — along with others —  appreciate having a place to go to have their stress  embrocated.

Especially a place where goings and especially comings cannot be readily monitored by the general public.

After all, in Quincy’s City Hall the rules are more what you call guidelines than actual rules.
