Quincy latest pedestrian whacking was also a hit and run per what was heard by Quincy Quarry’s Senior Police Scanner Monitor.
This purported hit and run whacking occurred around 9 PM Friday night in the vicinity of the Stop & Shop Superstore on Southern Artery and thus in the vicinity of the Quincy Police Department headquarters.
This pedestrian whacking also occurred in essentially the same area as a fatal pedestrian whacking on Veterans’ Day 2022, breaking badly bad news© which Quincy Quarry News scooped, including that the whacked party died, as well as did so weeks ahead of the Quarry’s old school local so-called media competition.
Then again, Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers know to turn to the Quarry to find the breaking badly bad news© of the day as well as often well ahead of all regional news media.
Quarry readers also know to rely on the Quarry to follow up with additional coverage on this latest whacking as might be appropriate.
In the meanwhile, do be sure to note that this fourth pedestrian whacking in a week is more on the order of a typical month of pedestrian whackings.
In turn, while still early in the 2024 calendar year, one cannot help but fear that a new record in pedestrian whackings in Quincy is looking likely, if not also highly likely.
Time to include a new standard feature in QQ: Pedestrian Strike of the Day.
As a pedestrian I’m starting to pack Eggs… When they run the Red lights , almost hitting me in a crosswalk in QC by Craig’s Caffe.. Cars had Solid Red light, crossing the street and a Bozo couldn’t wait zipped right by. maybe while I’m in the crosswalk. Next time… The Egg 🥚🥚🥚🥚 I don’t want to die
Mr. Butler,
In case you missed it, a pedestrian was struck in the very same TRAFFIC SIGNAL “controlled” crosswalk in front of Craig’s less than two months ago.

Then again, it would clearly appear that next to no drivers understand how its HAWK Signal traffic signals work — or at least do not abide by them.
How many sets of traffic lights are there in the city? Out of all of them there are only two sets of Hawk signals. So, since these two sets of lights are so different from all the others, it’s not surprising that drivers aren’t quite sure how to react to the unusual light format. They’re not sure when to stop, not sure when to go, etc., etc. That’s a real problem. And of course there are the ubiquitous illegal U-turns and Y-turns. Traffic enforcement is marginal — at best — and the result is a serious public safety situation.
Additionally, many pedestrians seem oblivious to the existence of lights and crosswalks.
