— Quincy Massachusetts News by Quincy Quarry News – News, Opinion and Commentary
Potholes happen and unfortunately prime time for the scrounge of potholes is already underway in Quincy.
Even worse, given a considerable rainfall during 2023 as well as a wet start to 2024, it only reasonable to fear that 2024 could well see a bumper crop of potholes.
To whit: while the City of Quincy will offer compensation for damage done by potholes, it will only do so if the damaging pothole has already been reported to the City AND it is in a city street.
Be sure to also note that such is standard practice by Massachusetts municipalities even if not by the state when it comes to its roadways.
Accordingly, the Quarry can only property encourage Quincy locals to report Quincy potholes to the City of Quincy both out of personal concern as well as thoughtful concern for others.
The City of Quincy offers three ways to report potholes.
One can call the City of Quincy’s Department of Public Works at (617) 376-1914.
One can also report a pothole by email via [email protected]
Further, one can use the City of Quincy’s somewhat interactive online REVIZE Public Service Request System.
Be sure to also note that one can see online reported potholes via REVIZE should one suffered pothole damage to one’s ride and so see if the destructive pothole has been reported so that one seek compensation from the City of Quincy.
A word to the wise: to make it less hard to address the pothole and/or to see compensation for pothole damage done if need be, do be sure to have solid location information on the offending pothole such as a nearby address and on what side of the street is the potholes at the ready to provide.
That and do try to take cellphone pictures to document damage suffered to one’s ride by the offending pothole as well as save any Dash Cam video that shows the damaging pothole(s) causing damage.

If we report that every street has potholes, are we covered? After all, there has been some all year long.
Johnson,
Hate to tell you but the City of Quincy has likely purposefully made it hard for complainants by insisting on reports on individual potholes.
Accordingly, as one can only reasonably assume that your list is Nixonian in length, I would suggest you sign up to use the REVIZE Public Service Request System at https://cms.revize.com/revize/apps/revize_psr/public/signin.php
As near as I can tell, once you set up a RIVIZE account, reporting potholes is both quick to do as well as would appear to so see any such potholes so reported noted online instantly to the potential benefit of subsequent unlucky others who might wish to file a claim for damages.
Pond St. should be reported as well as renamed Ponds.
