“I have a dream.”
A famous old photo

The long Martin Luther King Jr holiday weekend got off to to biblical start last Friday with a near epocal combination of rain followed by a near King Tide high tide on Saturday shortly after noon that gave rise to flooding throughout Quincy.

The weather then continued to be variously problematic.

“Why did the fish cross the road?”

Fishing for frozen flounders …

The foul weather over the long holiday weekend also included two modest snowfall events and then a freezing rain during the evening commute on Tuesday, the first day back to both work and school after the holiday weekend.

The freezing rain Tuesday evening was especially brutal as it quickly hit and while its hitting the fan was well-forecast, responses to it orchestrated by the Department of Public Works were less than rapid.  In turn, local body shops are thus surely looking at a nice pop in business.

Adding to the agony, the weather continued to remain frigid as well as will continue to be freezing through the following weekend before temperatures return to more seasonal levels on Monday.

Speaking of agony, yet another individual was struck by a motor vehicle in Quincy in the morning on Martin Luther King Jr Day.

In turn, not only did the Quincy Quarry scoop other media with its coverage of this accident, it also scored images and video of the accident scene.

Next up, as for crime, last Saturday the Quarry also scooped all other area media with it coverage of an apparent knife-based arrest of a suspect in Quincy Point as well as again successfully scored images as an apparent arrest was going down.

Speaking of crime, sometimes it most definitely does not pay.

For example, this week Quincy Quarry published its exclusive analysis as to why former Fall RIver Mayor and now federal prison inmate Jasiel Correia has been been moved among six different Club Feds in the past three months.

Succinctly, Quincy Quarry’s Prison and Prison Affairs desk opined that Correia is surely undergoing “Diesel Therapy” over his suspected misbehaving while in the custody of the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
