Sunday over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend just past was a hot one in Quincy but not for holiday season shopping as Quincy has precious little in the way of retail these days.
In particular, Quincy Quarry News’ primary Police Scanner Citizen Monitor picked up all sorts of radio chatter as well as all but constantly.
While most involved more minor problems, there was one troubling incident of note later in the afternoon on Sunday.
The Citizen Scanner Monitor heard of someone out and about Washington Street threatening to shot people as well as then witnessed the person subjected to a well-staged police response at a pizza and sub shop on Washington Street near Washington Street’s intersection with McGrath Highway.
As near as could be gathered, the threatening individual’s mother had reached out to police as her son was apparently in the midst of a crisis.
Police then followed with a measured response and so avoided an unfortunate tragedy.
Additionally, the individual was then placed in appropriate custody so as to better discern next steps instead of held for criminal charges over making distressing threats.
People are losing it. God told us to love our neighbor as ourselves. He commanded it. Jesus told us to love one another. The 10th commandment God commands us not to want what others have. Just do those things. Life will be comfortable.
Maybe didn’t get his pizza the way he wanted
