Bus drivers do not matter?
A meme

Quarry coverage started the week with a story about how local school bus drivers have been working without a new contract for well over a year as well as are now expressing their concerns about safety for students as the City of Quincy is cutting corners with staffing.

As near as Quincy Quarry can see, the Teamsters union has not contributed to Quincy Mayor Koch’s campaign fund or at least perhaps not enough to grease an arguably de facto manner of pay for pay.

Whoddathunk that Teamsters would be playing things kosher?

Speaking of pay for play, at Monday night’s Quincy City Council meeting the Koch Machine rolled the all but invariably invertebrate city councillors so as to take care of the mayor’s most generous campaign fund contributor as well as arguably his second most generous contributor via a well-greased and expensive for local taxpayers citywide grift less than a week after the recent local elections.

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry News’ Financial and Other Affairs desk is running the numbers and will be exposing this sleazy three-way as soon as possible.

For example, how certain city councillors have also been recipients of campaign fund largess from the two different out of town developers interwtined in this three-way.

But what the hey, pay for play is not illegal.

At least not as long as no can prove a quid pro quo agreement that is.

Also on Monday night, the Quincy Quarry reporter who coveried the grift spotted a homeless female sleeping on the ground in front of City Hall on the way into this week’s City Council meeting.

Fortunately, Quincy police officer all but concurrently arrived on the scene to see what could be done to see the homeless woman out of the cold.

Speaking of things happening around City Hall, there was a peaceful rally on Wednesday to encourage US Representative Stephen Lynch to support a call for a ceasefire in Gaza and so at least pause the killing of civilians for awhile.

Additionally, on Friday night the Church of the Presidents hosted a vigil to remember transsexuals who have suffered violence and worse.

Fatally worse.

Speaking of crime, one of Quincy Quarry News’ Citizen Police Scanner monitors picked up that a UPS truck was hit by thieves around noon on Saturday.

Needless to say, at least some early holiday shoppers are looking to have to wait awhile until replacement shipments can be provided.
