— News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added.
The Conservation Law Group has announced that it plans to file a lawsuit against Quincy-based Twin Rivers Technologies in Quincy District Court in mid-August if Twin Rivers does not come up with a plan to address various alleged environmental problems caused by Twin Rivers’ plant in Quincy near the Fore River Bridge.
Twin Rivers primarily processes processes edible oil food products and produces oleo-based feed stocks for use in the making of cleaning products such as soap and detergents at its plant.
To these production efforts, Twin Rivers, among other things, is literally kosher per the Orthodox Union as well as in perhaps a show of supporting peace in the Mideast is also Halal-certified. .
Needless to say, Quincy Quarry will continue to monitor this just breaking story and report back to update its ever-growing legions of loyal readers as might be appropriate.
In the meanwhile, Quincy Quarry News can only properly wonder if the Koch Maladministration will opt to file an amicus curiae brief in support of the Conservation Law Group’s expected court filing.
After all, the City of Quincy has kicked in somewhere in upwards of the mid-six figures range in total to subsidize the so far all but failed challenges to the Enbridge natural gas line compressor pumping station just across the Fore River Bridge on the Weymouth waterfront as well as surely a total of a likely million dollars, all direct and indirect costs included, to try to koch-block the City of Boston’s plans to rebuild its Long Island Bridge on its dime.
Then again, what with the City of Quincy recently enough signing off on an at least $100 million fix-it ticket agreement with the United States Department of Environmental Protection over long ongoing sewerage spills as well as over a million more a decade ago over violations found by Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection over other sort so pollution spills and such by the City of Quincy, perhaps the Koch Maladministration might prefer to duck and cover at this point.
