– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News
With spring so comes winter clean up needs, especially when it comes to taking care of the turf of Kim Jong Koch Plaza in front of Quincy’s two City Halls.
On the other hand, rather than addressing the flawed layout of hard surface walkways which in turn encourage pedestrians cutting across the grass, not over-water, fixing drainage problems, cut back on spreading salt on icy winter days, applying gypsum on the grass to offset salt damage, and/or the ill-advised staging of adult beverages dispensaries whenever an otherwise free event is staged on the plaza, yet again re-sodding of damaged turf and so also yet again sodding local taxpayers with the bill is yet again instead inflicted.
This year, however, Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Team Six was remiss as it only replaced damaged turf immediately adjacent to Quincy’s two city halls.
Then again, it is not as if the sodding shortcomings can be readily seen from Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s imperial, if not also imperious, office suite.
Further, Quincy Quarry dispatched its turf advisor Scott Pennington to review this sodding. He noted that the new sod was a general purpose fine blade grass whereas the larger grassy area is a manner of bent grass and thus the two turfs should be cared for differently, not that they likely will be, however.
Nothing another statue of Abigail Adams wouldn’t fix.
Er, ah — still no statute of John Quincy Adams.
Well, another statue of JA wouldn’t hurt either. But since statue roulette seems to be de rigueur for the Koch regime, perhaps a fleet of statues on wheels — of the usual subjects — would be in order. Then they could be carted around, shuffled here and there, as needed. Should be an easy sell to the spendthrift in the corner office.
