This week Quincy-based Compass Medical unexpectedly closed its six regular medical and urgent care venues, all of which are south of Boston.
Needless to say, this sudden closure hit Quincy residents especially extra hard what with Quincy no longer having a local hospital.
Compass stated that a $16 million dollar court-ordered damages payment to its former health care partner of a sort Seward Health Care System; however, it is only fair to point out that Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch could have yet again inflicted his Medusa Touch upon Compass.

After all, Mayor Koch went to the mattress to facilitate the vulture fund-owned for profit for Steward Healthcare to buy the now-closed Quincy Medical Center a dozen years ago, including using city funds on the down low to buy an unneeded parcel of property tied to a vacant property that was needed by Compass for its Quincy offices.
At the same time, that this significantly over market price land purchase helped out the mayor’s lifelong BFF Dam Fynnflam extricate himself from a foreclosure situation was surely but a coincidence.
No hospital, no bookstore, no theater, and no fiscally responsible mayor.
