A house fire on Saturday torched with post fire questions asked.
Two adjacent houses and multiple vehicles went up in flames on Sea Street in the Houghs Neck adjacent Adams Short neighborhood midday on a sunny and calm Saturday this past weekend.
Curiously, however, it appears that only one Boston area broadcast television station reported on a house fire that surely would have rated status as the evening news featured lede house fire of the day status given ideal weather for scoring newscopter video.

In only proper fairness, Quincy Quarry’s broadcast news media brethren outlet did feature a Citizen Video clip of the fire.
Additionally, the firefighters’ union local Facebook page also posted Citizen video of the inferno, albeit it different video,

How custom built?
Per a Citizen Photojournalist image taken weeks before fire as the SUV was so unusual and was then sent along to Quincy Quarry after the fire, the car nuts on the Quarry’s automotive desk made ride and this vehicle runs around $800,000 or more, depending on the options.
Even used, the asking price for an eight year old Conquest Vehicles’ Kight runs in $500,000 range and thus serious money for a homeowner of a nondescript residence along Sea Street that does not have a water view.

And as for options, they include more bullet resistant window glass, bullet resistance for other parts, and tires better able to withstand less than catastrophic bursts of gunfire and thus may more than leather upholstery or a trick audio system.
In other words, basically an SUV equivalent of “The Beast” and which is what the presidential limousine is called can be ordered if so desired.
More importantly, however, as regards locals, so far the Fire Department is going with a story that a differently-abled son who lived ib n the now-fire damaged house did something with a grill and which so gave rise to the fire.
I can see why Mayor Koch would desire having such a fortified SUV like this $800.000 vehicle, but I trust the intrepid QQ will conduct additional investigation to determine who the owner of this mystery vehicle is from its license registration number and devise possible explanations why it was observed in this location. Inquiring minds want to know!

Editor’s note. Take at another look at the Quarry’s exclusive picture of the armored SUV — You will note no front license plate. The picture of this armored ride in a for sale ad placed in the Robb Report also did not show a plate. As such,, other search efforts are thus underway but they will take awhile.
