Shots fired, the words no one wants to hear.
Last night at roughly 8:37 pm chatter on the Quincy Police radio channel featured word of a home invasion in the 400 block of Granite Street near Granite’s intersection with Centre Street.
Words said included that two shots were fired as well as stabbings inflicted.
Not clear at the time, however, who may have fired the shots but the stabbings appear to have been inflicted on at least the also said to be both shotgun and handgun wielding home invader.
Additionally, radio chatter indicted that the alleged home invader is a black or at least dark-skinned male.
Police responding to the scene included a police K9.
Unfortunately, while trail of blood was found, the Quincy K9 was not a tracker and thus a mutual aid call went out to another police department to bring in a tracking K9; however, this second K9 apparently could not pick up a scent trail and so eventually returned to its jurisdiction.
Police contemporaneously reached out to gather civilian security cam video so as to help with their efforts as well as also focused for at least a time on a building on Centre Street as a possible hiding place of the bleeding alleged perp in addition to otherwise searching the area for the alleged perp per the radio chatter.
Radio chatter further indicated that police were on the scene for at least several hours actively searching for the alleged home invader.
Quincy Quarry’s media brethren at Boston 25 have subsequently reported at roughly 10 AM today that three people in the invaded home were wounded and the alleged perp arrested, an unarguably good thing as so far no other Quincy-based media other than Quincy Quarry News has reported on this troubling incident.
No indication so far, however, as to when and where the alleged perp was apprehended.
Regardless, the alleged perp is now facing arraignment in Quincy District Court as soon as such might be practicable in light of his own purported wounds

White residents of Quincy need to arm themselves—shame on the Quarry for not reporting the suspect’s race.
Bart,
Did you miss this passage in Quincy Quarry’s coverage?
“Additionally, radio chatter indicted that the alleged home invader is a black or at least dark-skinned male.”
Was the BOLO alert for a back or dark-skinned man?
The radio chatter re the alleged suspect was more on the fly/in the heat of the moment than a leisurely BOLA radio message. Even so, the suspect was said to be a Black male or at least dark skinned. One can subscribe to a searchable police radio recordings service to score the definitive statement(s).
The BOLO went out for a black male, wearing all-black clothing, approximately six feet tall, and bleeding out; it was repeated numerous times – hit rewind and re-listen.
It was a black male, period. The three victims (also black) knew their attacker.
Nobody was guessing last night.
Bart,
Quincy Quarry stands by its story.
The whole of things yet to be to known and thus the Quarry’s coverage so far is as based on notes taken on the fly as things were going down.
Accordingly, it is only reasonable to not opt to go granular on things that may turn out to mistaken when the dust settles.
At the same time, what is far more troubling is how multiple reports have it that the suspected perp is not in custody yet the Quincy police have said that there is no risk to the public — at least around the scene of the crimes.
The home invader was identified but not arrested, per multiple news sources.
