This week’s Quincy Quarry News Fish Wrap hit the fan late this week and as so too did important breaking badly bad news© break late for the Weekly Fish Wrap to then exposé.
For example, late in the week on Thursday Quincy public school teachers hit the bricks in front of Quincy’s two city halls to picket over the fact that they do not have a new union contract to replace the old one which expired last year even though all other city union member employees have new contracts with many local police officers enjoying also an additional pay pop.
Simply put, contract negotiations with the teachers union have apparently all but hit an impasse as the Koch Maladministration is both all but literally offering bupkis as well as, among other things, insisting on teachers having to work roughly a day a year more but without receiving any compensation for this extra day of work.
Even so, Mayor Koch opined that he felt that the local teachers union were planning to go out on strike even though it appears his apparent lack of negotiating in good faith looks to be bating a fight, if not also arguably bullying.
Then again, given his long onging but so far all but yet again failed most recent attempt to bully local school girls, moving on to bullying the largely female school teachers union was thus ultimately only to be expected.
Conversely, as well as also only to be reasonably expected, even later in the week this week the Koch Machine yet again took care of a bunch of good old boys care of a late Friday night into Saturday day bust of a winter storm.
While admittedly cold and raw, the storm was not cold enough to result in any consequential snowfall, much less turn into ice.
Even so, the Koch Machine rolled out all sorts of machines onto city streets to drive around for hours from roughly closing time on Friday night until roughly dawn Saturday morning.
Then again, it has been an all but snow-free winter this year and thus certain city workers have not seen much in the way snow time premium overtime pay.
Similarly, neither have private snow and ice removal contractors seen much revenue come their way from the City of Quincy in return for their often generous contributions to Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s campaign fund.
After all, in Massachusetts campaign fund contributions are readily amenable to be made in such fashion so as to be viewed as, well, “allowed” pay for play.
For example, just look at how generous real estate developers as well as others engaged in all manner of dealings with the City of Quincy have made out like – well – you know.
