– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
The Koch Machine falling down on the job is nothing new to the ever-growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry News readers.
Even so, this latest such incident could well be a new low tide record low.
While on the way to work another in the works hard hitting to the stones Quincy Quarry exposé, the Quarry Mobile One happened upon fallen to the ground bricks from the facade of the current Quincy police headquarters.
Granted, these fallen bricks have been long been noticed by Quincy Quarry.
This time, however, there appeared to be even more bricks fallen from the facade along with the risk for at least workers’ compensation claims from city workers tasked with maintaining the ground of police headquarters from tripping over the fallen bricks left where they fell.
That and how such also baits the obvious question as to who is responsible the taking care of the fallen bricks.
Quincy Quarry personnel on this story thus considered reaching out to Mr. Snippy, the City of Quincy’s Public Buildings Commissioner; however, who wants to deal with someone snippy?
Plus, Mr. Snippy is probably extra snippy these days as he is already up to at least his neck with likely even more cost overruns on the pending new police headquarters and the $30 million Special Education school next to Central Middle School.
Further, there are the widely expected further costs increases yet on top of the near $20 million currently planned to be spent to see the City of Quincy Animal Control’s operations eventually relocated to a new facility just off Quarry Street.
The pending facility will likely be housing a typical average residential population of fifty to perhaps seventy-five tops stray or surrendered animals at the city’s impending wicked expensive new pound as well as at a price one could readily build a fifty or more unit apartment building.
That and the approaching six years long project by Mr. Snippy to endeavor to renovate a century or so old manse as a transition headquarters for the Public Buildings Department, a project which Snippy said in mid-2017 would only take a few months to complete as well as only just barely run north of $100,000.
Instead, Mr. Snippy has arguably continued to set all sorts of unfavorable records as regards a long foundering and expensive home remodeling project.

I saw that and thought it was newsworthy. A better one, driving on Sea St there was a sign pointing this way to the DPW. It should say, Follow the pot holes cause they lead right to it.
Quincy is a big city that requires constant upkeep. Some jobs get priority, and some do not. Relax; they will get to the fallen bricks.
Porky,
Thanks for tacitly confirming that both you dine on slop at the trough of Public Buildings Department and side hustles during your supposed work day are prioritized.
Pork Chop,
Dude — bricks have been falling off of this part of QPD headquarters for years. But sure, Public Buildings will get around to addressing them when the old headquarter is demolished after the new $175 million and likely still counting new headquarters is eventually completed. SMH.
Haven’t been around much, eh Porky? Quincy is actually a small city.
