Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Team Six sloppy response to late burst of snow
– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News
Today’s forecast of a modest snowfall arrived later than many expected.
In turn, not only did the snowfall hit just around the end of the school day, many then came up short with their response to the snow.
Often wicked short.
A Quincy Quarry News Snow Monitor reported that plows were few and far between, with none whatsoever to be seen as usual in East Quincy, better known as Houghs Neck, as well as that favorite cut through street Greenleaf Street was especially slippery.
Quincy Quarry’s field crew for the day reported similarly from the field but did find some snow plows on the road.
At the same time Quarry field crew noticed that many of them did not have their plows on the pavement as well as also found snow inexplicably plowed into the street as opposed to cleared off of it
Fortunately, the snowfall was only an inch or so deep.
Even so, Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Six still managed to drop the ball.
While relatively quick to respond to the snowfall, Snow Team Six’s response appeared chaotic.
One of Team Six’s two dedicated mini-tractors was racing about plowing in way less than efficient whereas the other one was inexplicably parked.
Additionally, an even smaller mini snow plow was inexplicably parked near the Quincy Center MBTA station with no operator anywhere to be seen.
At the same time, several city employees where seen pushing around snow manually with snow shovels on Kim Jong Koch Plaza, snow which the mini-plows could have surely moved more effectively as well as much quicker.
Further, as of well after an hour after the snow hit Quincy, the sidewalk along the adjacent and now City of Quincy-owned Munroe Building had yet to be cleared of snow even as Snow Team Six was racing about frantically and thus less than effectively clearing snow off of Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s pavement.
So what, apparently, for the obvious safety risk to passing pedestrians and thus potential liability for the City of Quincy that could ultimately cause a hit to the pockets of local taxpayers.
Snow fall and sloppy mess notwithstanding, a civil wedding at City Hall appears to have happen this afternoon in spite of the snow.
One can only assume that the groom was behooved to make it to City Hall on time as well as in no uncertain terms.
