– News from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added.
Red Line subway service from JFK Station south will be replaced by a bus shuttle this weekend so that a maintenance makeover might be more readily undertaken.
How readily, however, is unclear given that a nasty and windy rainstorm is expected to hit around noon today and then continue into late tonight.
In any event, the Red Line is the last subway line to see maintenance upgrades in the wake of a damning Federal Transit Authority review.
At the same time, no word from Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch on either the makeover in general or why Quincy is at the back of the bus as regards seeing local subway service undergo long overdue repairs.
Further inexplicable as to why no comment as about how Quincy locals are among those at the end of the line are the facts that Koch has been the Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board for a decade.as well as is the most senior member of the MBTA’s board of directors and thus should be the local piñata for frustrated straphangers.
