Wollaston Center MBTA station held up by police action this morning
– News about Quincy from Quincy Quarry News
As if Mondays are not bad enough for straphangers, rail service on the Braintree branch of the Red Line has been replaced by a bus shuttle given a police action at Wollaston station..
While surprisingly there have been no reports of significant problems reported with the Green Line’s D Line closure of rail service for three different nine day stints so as to facilitate major maintenance makeovers, this morning Quincy straphanges are facing unexpected delays.
The reason: bodies of a man and a woman were found along the tracks near Wollaston Station.
‼️ BREAKING: MBTA officials say a man and woman were found dead on the tracks around Wollaston Station.
Right now there is no service between Quincy Center & JFK/UMass as police investigate. You will have to take shuttle buses. @RobWayTV is headed there. #7news pic.twitter.com/DTyOC2ppj0

While yet to be confirmed, it would appear that they may have died for reasons other than a train strike.
Regardless of the cause of the suspected fatalities, Wollaston Center Station will be closed for two or so hours until 8:30 AM per the Quincy Police Department and thus also shutting down rail service on the Braintree branch of the Red Line.

Needless to say, Quincy Quarry will continue to monitor the situation and report back as appropriate.
Also needless to say, the Quincy Police are doing all they can to push media inquires to the MBTA Transit Police and so make it possible for Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch, who is also both the senior member of the MBTA Board of Directors as well as the decade long Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board, to avoid having to face press inquires about the latest suspicious deaths in Quincy.
