After days of various sorts of officials endeavoring to both contain and then capture the seal, the seal apparently had had enough and thus waddled over from Shoebert Pond where he had been corralled to the Beverly Police Department headquarters to surrender at around 2;30 AM this morning.
One can view the security camera video of the seal waddling to Beverley Police Department’s headquarters surrender here.
Also note that during the process of taking the seal into custody, the seal, who was given the alias of Shoebert given his hanging in Beverly’s Shoebert Pond, was found to be tagged and so has a record of previously being taken into custody.
Details as to taken into custody over what, however, were not available when this Quincy Quarry story was published.
