The Heat is on in Quincy yet again!
– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
Quincy is heading into another life-threatening as well as likely to be record breaking heatwave for the second time in recent weeks.
However, while Boston Mayor Michelle Wu has declared a heat emergency and so opened up sixteen cooling centers as well as that Boston has over fifty so-called “splash pads” to help Boston residents cope with the expected run of hot and humid days until into early next week, Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch has not done much to help out soon to again be sweltering Quincy residents beat the impending heat.
At best as near as Quincy Quarry can tell, the City of Quincy’s Twitter feed has conversely but occasionally posted generic modest suggestions as to how Quincy locals can endeavor to head off heat exhaustion.
Temperatures are on the rise. If you are in need of a cool indoor spot @CityofQuincy you can visit the Kennedy Center weekdays, 440 E Squantum St. 8:30 am-4:30 pm or one of @ThomasCranePL branches. Visit https://t.co/1Em5k18Mer for hours each day. pic.twitter.com/olnRCt3ZTK

At the same time, the City of Quincy continues to deny access to the city’s largest tacit splash pad and thus leaving only the one modest splash pad in southwest Quincy’s Kincaid Park as the only cooling splash pad in Quincy.
Then again, Heaven forbid that the arguable splash pad in Quincy Mayor Thomas P,. Koch’s beloved and said to have cost $35 million or thereabouts Edifice Complex that is Kim Jong Koch Plaza be made available to help overheated Quincy locals beat the heat during a life-threatening climate change heat emergency..
Even more troubling, the City of Quincy’s Twitter feed has concurrently promoted strenuous City of Quincy-hosted outdoor activities..

Even more troubling is the City of Quincy’s considerable as well as frequent promoting of two day outdoor music festival this weekend during high points of the deadly combination of heat and humidity..
Granted, these events are slated to start at 6 pm; however, such will still to be a wicked hot time of the day.
Equally troubling is how this two event day featuring an Irish tenor singing on Saturday as well as apparently also Irish step dancing on Sunday is being pimped as a multicultural event.
A friendly reminder that the Multicultural Folk Festival is this weekend! @RonanTynan is performing on Saturday and a talented list of other exciting multicultural performances are on Sunday! Come and enjoy the food trucks and amazing entertainment during this fun-filled weekend! pic.twitter.com/HCYDGD7tPE

Then again, what with many longtime locals of Irish descent selling out and moving out of Quincy given soaring local property taxes, there might be an argument that the Irish are now an under-represented minority in Quincy; outside of the Quincy Police Department, that is …

But the bricks near city hall are getting a thorough splashing.
Maybe Snow Team Six will hose down the crowd while Moanin’ Ronan is wailing away.
