MBTA yet again delivers a safety incident for the media to exposé
– News covered by Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
While the MBTA is not known for providing reliable transportation, lately it has been very regular at providing cannon fodder for the media.
That and also fodder for Federal Transportation Administration safety officials.
In what one can only fear may only be the first incident of this week as it occurred at the start of the Monday morning commute, a Red Line train with said to be “diminished brakes capacity” rolled out of the train storage yard in Braintree and then traveled out of control for roughly eight hundred feet before it came to a stop on a flat run of track.
Further disconcerting, this was the second time in a month that a Red Line train cars so rolled along in Braintree on their own.
So what, apparently, for the fact that one can only assume that after Federal Transportation Administration safety inspectors issued a scathing review about MBTA’s less than safe performance and practices earlier this month that things would improve or at least not become worse.
Then again, we are talking the T.

How can Koch let the MBTA fall apart while at the same time building up the city to rely on the T for the future?
Apartments with no parking and the MBTA running on a weekend schedule will not fill all of these new apartments with the professional white tenants the city aims to capture.
The City of Quincy, MBTA boards, face it, Tom Koch brings only bad luck!
