Longtime local favorite small business Good Health will soon be leaving Quincy.
The longtime local favorite small business for all manner of health products, eco-friendly goods, and organic produce calling it quits in the Q next month.
This husband and wife founded small business suffered the loss of the husband five years and the widow is now opting to downsize operation to the Good Health’s other location in Hanover.
Good Health is one the few remaining non-restaurants retail businesses in a part of Quincy Center once known as Shoppers Town.

Clearly, Mayor Koch will not be mourning the loss of Good Health.
What can you get nowadays in Quincy Center besides a full-service massage, parking ticket, or very overpriced meals and drinks?
Quincy residents continue to lose.

It’s reported that the reason for leaving is that the rent is going up beyond the point where it’s no longer feasible to remain in that location.
Also, one wonders whether the fact that the city wants to acquire the adjacent property and building — burned out many years ago and never repaired — has encouraged the owner of the Good Health property to raise the rent, thus indicating a higher value, in order to ask a higher price when the city decides to buy/take that property.”
