Quincy Quarry News Weekly Fish Wrap: Grilling and Chilling on the de facto first summer weekend
– News about Quincy Massachusetts covered by Quincy Quarry News with commentary added
While for the most part this week was a somewhat quiet week leading into the long Memorial Day Weekend, it had its moments.
For starters, on the grillin’ and dhillin’ front, Miller Lite rolled out its “beerchol”, beer-infushed barbeque charcoal.
Sheer genius, other than the choice of beer used, that is.
Next up, law enforcement types in Barnstable showed up those in Quincy for opting to do the right thing by not doing an illegal solid for someone with police ties who did something improper by bringing in outsiders to mitigate any claims of impropriety.
But then things went back to normal locally as Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s talent for skyrocketing project costs appears to have infected the MBTA care of his gobsmacking inclusion on to the latest iteration of Commonwealth senior officials endeavoring to try to manage the T.
Even more problematic, however, was how the good ole boys on the Quincy City Council greenlighted Mayor Koch’s proposed 7.7% spending increase for the upcoming budgetary fiscal year, an increase roughly twice that of Weymouth’s planned spending and roughly a third more than Boston’s proposed increase.
How brown are the noses of the good ole boys?
So brown that there is all but assuredly no way that they will ever be able to wash the brown off of their noses, much less ever remove the stench.
Not ever, “Quoth the Raven, Nevermore,”
