Long Island Bridge: “Everything Is on The Table”
Quincy Mayor Tom Koch abused a presser to announce the receipt of funds for opioid abuse treatment to recycle his all but lost kochotic quest to stop the City of Boston from rebuilding its bridge to Long Island on its dime so it may develop permanent infrastructure so as to better address substance abuse, That and so head off a return of a tent city of opiate abusers squatting in the Mass & Cass neighborhood of Boston near Boston Medical Center.
Quincy Mayor Koch further called for a pow-wow with Boston Mayor Michelle Wu in the next few weeks.
No official word from Mayor Wu, however as to her interest in meeting with Koch. After all, she has secured all needed permits to rebuild the Long Island Bridge. Plus, she has considerable cash reserves on hand to pay for much of the cost to do so as well as surely other funding sources are available before she might have to perhaps consider issuing bond debt as per Mayor Koch’s modus operandi to fund his arguably often profligate spending habits.
In the meanwhile, Mayor Koch is down to a last-minute as well as arguable nuisance pro se court filing by the Chaubunagungamaug Nipmuck Tribe which is all but assuredly doomed to failure, if not outright rejection by the court for multiple reasons.
After all, Koch’s long-playing the Delay Game and so wastefully burning through roughly million dollars of taxpayers’ money to endeavor to kochblock a return of grandfathered Long Island traffic passing along the water and but several dozen Squantum residences in what is arguably by far Quincy’s most NIMBY-populated neighborhood has all but officially failed.
Even so, Mayor Koch continues to foist all manner of impractical alternative proposals – such as continuing to pimp relying on ferry service to Long Island but which abjectly fails valid safety issues – even though all of them have already been rejected for various good reasons.
In short, Koch has got bupkis, if not also is all but bupkis as far as the City of Boston is concerned.
Granted, Quincy Quarry News fully understands the political optics glaring down on Quincy Mayor Tom Koch.
That and his shameless penchant for photo and video ops even though he has a face for radio.
At some point likely soon, however, the City of Boston will surely tire of Koch playing troll and thus might opt to call upon the biggest Billy Goat Gruff to butt him over the side and then pay whatever is the EPA fine for so polluting Boston Harbor.
Plus, there is the possibility that the City of Boston might also opt to sue the City of Quincy for damages given the all but interminable as well as costly delays Mayor Koch has inflicted upon the City of Boston.
After all, Boston can readily show a long ongoing history of pattern or practice by the City of Quincy illegally kochblocking other local property owners’ property rights and for which judges have imposed punitive damages upon the City of Quincy which local taxpayers then had to fund.
Again, also remember what happened to the troll in Billy Goat Gruff.

Case dismissed!
Asterick,
Let’s not forget the food reference — Freud would have a field day.
Everything under the table is more Mayor Koch.
I’m looking forward to watching and re-watching an Asian woman outwitting Mayor Koch and his band of bully white men. Quincy might lose all of Squantum.
