Methuen police to reorganize in the wake of long-ongoing scandals.
From Methuen comes news that Quincy locals should find of interest.
That and perhaps disquieting concern for at least certain members of the Koch Machine.
The news: Methuen’s police department is finally undergoing a major makeover in the face of all manner of scandals.
Key to the scandals within the Methuen Police Department is how the now-former Methuen police chief scored an outsized contract for his salary a few years ago as well as for certain other Methuen police officers, a contract which the Massachusetts Inspector General subsequently said was the result of a “total failure of leadership”
Additionally, there were allegations of all sorts of problematic behavior by the now-former Methuen police chief over the years and more recently word of an ongoing federal investigation. something surely but coincidentally the Quincy police department is familiar with care of not just one case but also purportedly a second instance.
The first instance involving the Quincy Police Department resulted in Quincy’s police detail income record-setting former police lieutenant ending up sentenced to an extended stay at a Club Fed and suffering the loss of his pension benefits.
And as for the purported second outside investigation involving the Quincy Pollice Department, such things take a while before COVID gummed up the works, and thus perhaps the purported second investigation is still ongoing.

In Quincy, we need independent police to police our police.
In 2022, the city of Quincy still has policemen.
Don’t forget that Quincy police officers, including the chief, are being sued over the killing of a family man at the Nickerson VFW Post in Squantum.

Discrimination runs deep at the QPD.
Remember Kathleen Bandera vs. the Quincy Police?
Nothing has changed!
Connie,
Thanks for the reminder of especially sordid matter involving the boyos at the QPD. QQ’s readers can read all about it at

Wow! Talk about a boys club!
It is now clear why we have so few women and minorities in the police department.
Here is a link to the latest scandal at the Quincy Police Department involving Chief Keenan, his son, and his nephew (Mayor Koch’s son.)

Integrity is not a requirment to be Quincy’s top cop.
I’m old enough to remember when Quincy Police Officer Keenan (now Chief of Police) and a few fellow officers were accused of cheating during the sergeant’s exam.

While in college, I was a bartender at the old Bently’s on Southern Artery. The bar always had a police detail Thurs through Sat nights.
After the bar closed, some on and off-duty Quincy cops would come in for after-hour drinks.
A few married cops would come in to see their young girlfriends who worked at the bar,
I witnessed these cops, often on duty, having sex with their GFs in the restaurant section of the bar.
It used to get wild, and the parties went on until 5 am. Lines of cocaine were a common sight on the bar.
A few cops were famous for shooting their guns off inside the building. I can vividly recall working day shifts and seeing sunlight peering in through all the bullet holes in the roof.
None of the cops ever paid for a drink or even left a tip!
I wonder if Chief Keenan remembers the good ole days?
The “good ole days” were yesterday and the day before at the QPD.
