– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy Quarry exposés Quincy Department of Natural Resources for the second time in two days as well as the third time in less than a week.
After all, little slips past the gimlet-eyed peeps at Quincy Quarry News.
Especially nips.
The latest example: how the Department of Natural Resources appears to be clueless about an empty beer cans and nips laden party site in Merrymount Park.
The party site is just past the Adams Field’s fence in right-center field and thus roughly but a hundred yards or so from the Department of Natural Resources’ long so-called Country Club headquarters.
Apparently, likely underage local baseball fans have been gathering outside at this perhaps thus more COVID-19 safe environment so as to commiserate over major league baseball team owners’ lockout of players and so trashing spring training as well as putting the regular season itself into to doubt.
Fortunately, a new union contract was finally reached this past week.
Even so, one still cannot help but fear the potential for a lingering COVID-fueled rancor factor given the considerable number of Fireball nips found strewn on the ground at this party site.
That and also wondering how Quincy police officers who typically park their cruisers nearby missed the parties in Adams Field’s new de facto as well as bad old days Fenway-grade rowdy outfield bleachers.
In any event, count on Quincy Quarry News to monitor the scene of this latest exposed mess and report back if and then when it might be cleaned.
DNR employees have been too busy chopping firewood to police the parks, while the Quincy Police do not target white teens partying.
How do teens acquire so many nips? Liquor stores need to be policed and held accountable.
I’ll take empty nip bottles over the used and disregarded hypodermic needles found at other Quincy parks.
Nothing new here. You can find empty nip bottles all over the city!
I used to walk our dog around the trails at Merry Mount Park, but nowadays, there is too much-broken glass (beer bottles) on the trails to walk the dog there.
Ditto Fred!
At least the underage kids have plenty of parking!
