Russia attacks Ukraine,
As has long been both threatened as well as expected, Russian military forces struck Ukraine last night.
Granted, the assault is early in the going and thus things could change, but there are some signs of potential problems for Vladimir Putin’s plan to bring the sovereign state of Ukraine back under the control of Moscow if we are to believe the following tweet and at least some of its underlying thread have some merit.
The speed we’re seeing is, I expect, somewhat to do with the fact that a lot of the Russian Army don’t want to die for Ukraine.

And for an example of why a lot of Ivans may have some trepidation …
Update:
While the Russian offense has been making gains, videos of purported destroyed Russian conveys are appearing on social media as Russian hackers, saboteurs, and military forces would appear to have failed to take down the Ukrainian telecommunication systems and electrical grid..

Ukraine may not hold up against the Russian hordes but Ukrainians will be going down with guns blazing.
Russia has lost 2,800 troops, 80 tanks, 516 armored vehicles, 10 airplanes, and 7 helicopters in its invasion of Ukraine: deputy defense minister.
Numbers as of 3pm Ukraine time.

That and now Ukrainians have a battle cry care of thirteen Ukrainians who are said to have bee wiped out by far superior Russians superior forces.
Unfortunately, President Biden’s sanctions against Russia will likely hamper Mayor Koch’s campaign and other fundraising activities as well as further stall Quincy Center’s redevelopment.
It is now more likely that we will never see any of our stolen $3.5 million returned.
Gramps,
As regards Quincy Center, at least there is the possibility, however likely remote, that a certain pair of Quincy Center redevelopers were able to move enough hryvnia out of the old country before Russian tanks rolled and cyberattacks hit Ukrainian banks
The pair of redevelopers launder Russian rubles. That is the business.
Gramps,
Technically, these two developers and a lot of their peeps are Soviet-era immigrants from what still is independent Ukraine. That and probably at least a couple of shiksas from the old country on the payroll. Score this as you may.
