– News about Quincy Massachusetts from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy Massachusetts City Hall VIP parking lot snow clearing near fail.
As most of the rest of Quincy was blanketed with snow as well as neighborhood streets only modestly plowed and best as well as subjected to a low salt diet, so impacted locals should take some comfort in the fact that Quincy’s City Hall was also sloppy ploughed.
As is standard practice by Quincy Quarry News, it let its dogs out on the mean and today snow-covered streets of Quincy before dawn so as to both survey things in general as well as document yet another expected snow job at Quincy’s City Hall.
Only to be expected, neighborhood streets were meso-meso, but it must begrudgingly be acknowledged that local main arterials were in relatively decent condition per local modest expectations.
At the same time, it is also only fair to note that snowfall did not start as early as had been forecast.
At the same time, Quincy Quarry News’ newshounds found a fail at CIty Hall’s VIP parking lot.
Over many years of the Quarry monitoring the VIP parking lot, it has invariably found this parking lot plowed as close to down to the pavement as possible as well as well-salted to a point well past hypertension-inducing before the first light of day, rate of ongoing snowfall adjusted.
This morning, however, Quarry newshounds found at most but hints of the lot’s plowing early on after snow had commenced falling, only to then have even more inches of snow fall upon the VIP parking as well as that the sequential snowfall had yet to be cleared before the break of dawn.
At the same time, it is must be noted that at least some of Kim Jong Koch Plaza’s Snow Team Six were working it.
.
Quincy Quarry found three pieces of equipment working away at plowing snow as well as at least six city workers out and about with snow shovels even if the Quarry photo-documented some standing around and leaning on their respective shovels.
Regardless, Kim Jong Koch Plaza was still relatively well-cleared down the pavement even if other city sidewalks were little more than dogsled tracks.
That and piling up snow in ways less than ideal places for clearing and hauling away later.
Then again, make work does work up nice amounts of overtime.
In any event, after taking a break to score some coffee and feed the Quarry’s sled dogs some seal blubber, the Quarry sleddog team found that the city’s street-brining truck had been tasked with clearing City Hall’s VIP parking lot shortly before the regular opening time at City Hall.
Late save notwithstanding, Quincy Quarry News still expects that heads will still roll.
After all, it is all but assuredly a given that the Koch Machine has personal who are tasked to closely monitor the Quarry in the hope of at least having a chance at mitigating Q-ups committed by City of Quincy personnel.
Needless to say, the ever-growing legends of loyal Quincy Quarry News readers can count on the Quarry news team monitoring the situation and report back as might be appropriate if and when the ax falls as well as upon whom.
City managers called it another long weekend yesterday!
Why do they never pay any attention to the CROSSWALKS during or after snow emergencies? Nothing like climbing over piles of snow to cross the street. Thanks for nothing Tommy Taxes!
Great, more NO SHOW JOBS!
Red,
Technically, these are show but no-go snow jobs. Even so, point taken.
Agree, no-go jobs are a real problem. As a professional dog walker servicing Quincy, I regularly see occupied city vehicles “in-hiding” all over the city. I even suspect a few city employees are working side hustles while on the clock.
Isn’t the brine supposed to be applied BEFORE the storm?
Great pictures!
