Quincy Center tree replaced but another adjacent long ago whacked tree was not.
A tree along Hancock Street in Quincy Center that was whacked recently by a driver who appeared to have been out on bail has been replaced.
All things considered, such was a quick replacement for damage done to a tree or turf most anywhere else on City of Quincy property other than on the grounds of nearby Kim Jong Koch Plaza.
Then again, what with Quincy’s Christmas Parade scheduled for this Sunday, one can readily imagine that replacing the tree was a prime directive promulgated by City Hall.
Nearby, however, a tree that got whacked several years ago is still but a stump and which Quincy Quarry exposéd at the time of its whacking by another careless driver.
One would think that city workers would at least pull out the stump of what was at the time of its whacking a relatively recently planted and then but modest in size tree; however, such a would appear to have not yet merely but been put on the to-do list.
Then again, there are so many, many, many other to-do’s that have yet to be done in the way of maintenance needs by the City of Quincy.
That and so what for the fact that many of these shortcomings will continue to pose liability exposure for local taxpayers until they might finally be duly addressed by the Koch Maladministration.
Interesting that this situation has been overlooked/ignored in light of the obvious OCD-like treatment the rest of the area is usually subjected to on a daily basis.
The least they could do is to replace the stump with a dead tree — it is the fall/winter season after all, and no one would notice until spring. That would allow the mini-Kubota patrol crew plenty of time to plan their next move. One might reasonably assume that the mayor would be pissing himself and foaming at the mouth over this situation, and that he would order a full-court press to remedy it immediately — if not sooner. This lack of thought and action scores an(other) F for FAILURE.
City Hall likes dead-wood. Just sayn.
Chica,
More like City Hall is lousy with dead wood and I am certain that you know exactly what I mean.
The city should be planting trees that grow fruit so taxpayers can forage for food after paying their property tax bills.
