Quincy Housing Authority’s O’Brien Towers apartment building loses roofing during the still ongoing storm.
Quincy Quarry’s media brethren at Boston 25 have reported that the still blowing nor’easter would appear to have inflicted some not inconsiderable damage to the roof of at least one wing of the towers per images broadcast by 25.
As Quincy Quarry’s ever-growing legions of loyal readers will surely recall, the less than flush mostly elderly and often disabled tenants at O’Brien Towers have in recent years suffered long broken elevators and failed hot water boilers.
That and more recently bouts of all but interminable infestations of bed bugs and COVID-19 infections.
Fortunately, federal and state housing oversight officials eventually came to the rescue of the beleaguered O’Brien Towers tenants as well as even more Quincy Housing Authority tenants residing in ill-managed Quincy Housing Authority by seeing to that the housing authority’s (woefully inept, ed) management was duly taken to task and problems then (eventually, ed.) addressed.
Now, however, one cannot help but wonder if another visit by state and federal officials might again be in order.
