Quincy Center sprucing up goes down to the wire for Generals’ inspection.
The Quincy Quarry newsroom continues to work through the backlog of pictures taken by the Quarry’s Photo Recon Team Six, photos that tell thousands of words about Quincy Mayor Thomas P. Koch’s high ticket gala dinner and well past over the top as well as the ill-timed dedication of the still unfinished Generals Bridge on the sacred day that is 9/11.
In this instance, the Quarry highlights how serious efforts were still underway to paint streetlights and other sorts of street poles in the Quincy Center area.
One can only assume that the Koch Maladministration was preparing for an expected white-glove inspection in spite of the fact that such inspections are primarily the provenance of drill sergeants and certain chief petty officers.
Regardless, the rest of Quincy should be so lucky to see but a fraction of this level of obsessive/compulsive care.
That and so what for proper planning so that such a mad rush into madness was not taken care of sooner as well as without the problems inherent to hurrying.
