Snowstorm street parking and pandemic public house capacity restrictions?  What restrictions?

In what has been a long ongoing Quincy Quarry News investigative review, dedicated Quincy Quarry News personnel have been monitoring local purveyors of food and especially adult beverages.

Particularly trying for this Quarry team is not only were they not allowed to sample any of these purveyors’ adult libations, but also there is not always a Dunkie’s conveniently nearby, much less somewhere where one could get a decent cuppa joe.

In any event, as well as should only be expected in the Q, some of these Quincy establishments would appear to have understandably been pushing the envelope as regards pandemic restrictions.

Day or night, feel free to stop by and stay awhile!

After all, these businesses have been among the hardest hit small businesses care of the COVID-19 pandemic as takeout can only provide so much revenue, especially after GrubHub takes its mordida for delivering customers’ orders.

But then there is a Quincy Point joint that appears to be getting away with the same and then some more.

Way more.

No matter the time of day after the day shift ends, especially for certain sorts of city employees, this place has typically had a fair number of mostly pickups parked out front along both sides of the street as well as in its parking lot out back.

Covering up the windows from prying eyes?

In particular, the parking along the street was as considerable as usual during the most recent snowstorm to hit the Q in spite of the imposition of an official snow emergency parking ban which prohibits parking “… on all designated emergency arteries” and on which this joint is not only located but is also adjacent to the main base of operations for the local ambulance service.

Further, the windows of this joint are blocked off with random pages of this, that and the other reminiscent of the secretive nondescript clubs once especially common in Boston’s Fens before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decided in favor of Goodridge in the matter of Goodridge versus the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

Even so, there are gaps in the papering over of the windows, and a Quincy Quarry reporter was thus able to peek in and so see what looked to be considerably more patrons than the current capacity limit allows for such public places.

At the same, the Quincy Quarry team assigned to investigate things knew better than to go into a joint wherein everyone must know your name as well as that it better not be Clavin.

As such, the Quarry news team was not able to better assess the number of patrons and size of the place.

Regardless, neither rain nor sleet nor especially snow will stop the venue’s patrons from stopping by, if not also staying for awhile while ostensibly waiting for their pizza orders from next door to be made ready for takeout.

After all, the perfect pie takes a while to prepare as well as bake and then slice, especially if one is not quick to order it.

Plus, it is way more fun to hang with one’s peeps hoisting a brew or three than to instead head home to face the old ball and chain, tackle the honey-do list and/or be baffled to the point of grave embarrassment trying to help the kids do their math lessons remotely.
