Houghs Neck water main break leaves Houghs Neck dry.
Per one of the ever-growing network of Quincy Quarry Citizen Journalists, the Quarry is able to yet again scoop other media with news of a water main break near the intersection of Post Island Road and Sea Street in the “Taint” that has left the waterfront neighborhood of Houghs Neck dry.
While too earlier for anyone to be contacted at either the Department of Public Works or City Hall for comment as well as that no member of the Koch Machine cares to respond to any Quincy Quarry inquiries and especially those especially consequential, it is not possible to obtain an official statement from any city official on the water main break.
- Update: Repair work still underway and water service on the Neck is but a trickle as of 4 PM today.
- Additional Update: There are appear to be three breaks in the water main and the water flow this morning in the Neck is said to be barely able to refill a toilet tank in a timely manner.
As such, Quincy Quarry will have to rely on the suspicions of its Citizen Journalist on the scene and who happens to be the Quarry’s construction and utility correspondent.
This thus expert Citizen Journalist’s theory: the break occurred where underground utility lines were destroyed during the March 2018 nor’easter which hammered this and other parts of Quincy.
In turn, this baits entirely understandable suspicions that in the rush to repair the storm damage to utility lines as well as other damaged infrastructure resulted in repairs that turned out to be an accident waiting to happen.
Needless to say, Quincy Quarry News’ ever-growing legions of loyal readers can count on it to monitor the situation and report back as appropriate.
