Main streets OK, side streets not so much

Snow flurry dusts Quincy Streets.

Overnight Quincy was covered with a thin blanket of snow and so resulting in a clean coat of fresh snow covering over the typically dirty mess that results from cleaning up after a larger snowstorm such as the local slush storm earlier this week.

The impact of the modest overnight snowfall on local streets, however, was a mixed bag. 

While local main thoroughfares appear to have been salted or at least had enough salt remaining on them care of the storm earlier this week, side streets look to be whiteouts.

Granted, a dusting is a but dusting. 

On the other hand, we all know how many locals are not exactly aces at driving on snow even though most of these drivers believe otherwise as they drive about in their outsized SUV’s and behemoth four-door four-wheel-drive pick-ups even if a modestly-sized Subaru would likely be the better fit and more nimble ride for most local drivers’ needs and budgets.
