There’s a shortage of skilled tradespeople throughout the American economy, and it is a persistent problem that started well before the pandemic.  But what is behind that gap and what can be done?

The skilled labor shortage is worsening in spite of rising salaries.

Shocked at the cost and time it takes to line up someone to service your car, fix a leaky faucet or maintain your HVAC system? 

Well, things are only going to become even worse as ever-fewer people want to be the guy or the girl who fix the things that we all rely on.

So what, apparently, for the fact that such skilled technicans can often make a living wage during their apprenticeships and then step up to earning over to well over $100,000 a year once they become fully trained within roughly the same time as it takes to complete an undergraduate college degree.

That and so not stuck with student loans to pay.

Additionally troublesome, not only has the COVID-19 pandemic made a mess of things pervasively, enhanced unemployment benefits have encouraged some to opt to not exactly pursue with vigor lining up a new job.
