– Quincy Massachusetts News from Quincy Quarry News.
Code Red alert on all aisles at Quincy Stop and Shop!
While particulars are still few and far between given that the incident is fresh, if not still ongoing, a considerable number of marked and unmarked Quincy Police Department cruisers have rolled to the Stop and Shop on Southern Artery and blocked it off to the public on one what is one of the busiest shopping days of the year.
Particularly ominous is that many of the liftgates of the cruisers responding to the scene have been reported as open and the back of cruisers is where officers stow major incident gear.
Further, it appears that mutual aid has been requested as state troopers are redirecting traffic in at least the vicinity of McGrath and Washington Street. Accordingly, Quincy Quarry is endeavoring to find out if staties are diverting traffic elsewhere.

Fortunately, the Quincy Police Department headquarters is but a hundred or so yards away from the Stop and Shop.
On the other hand, one can only find what looks to be a crime scene as a brazen one given its close proximity to the police headquarters.
Additionally, newspapers have been orbiting over the scene.
Fortunately, Quincy Quarry already had an experienced criminal investigator near the scene and the Quarry will follow up as might appropriate with whatever information can be gathered at the scene.
UPDATE: Pedestrian hit, not a robbery.

Further note that Quincy Quarry News’ boots on the ground at the scene have gathered enough information to suggest that the prognosis for the struck pedestrian is not a good one. In particular, particularly telling to this surmise was the rapid and considerable presence n the scene of accident reconstruction personnel and equipment at a level indicative of erring on the side of caution to assure a comprehensive investigation in the event of a fatal outcome.
Follow-up: Two pedestrians struck, driver taken to the hospital for observation.
The one struck pedestrian indicated earlier by the Quincy Police Department turned out to one of two, a sixty-five-year-old man and a woman of an age not yet known. Apparently, the male was struck first and then the driver backed up her car and struck the female victim. Both suffered serious injuries, however, both are expected to survive.
The driver of the car, a woman in her mid-forties, was taken to the hospital for observation. No indication yet, however, if the driver will be cited or otherwise sanctioned.
