Weekly Massachusetts COVID-19 report release delayed a day
On top of the plague of the still lingering, if not also festering presidential election, COVID-19 continues its second wave of infection and casualties.
Even more troubling, today’s anticipated release of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health’s weekly COVID-19 report, which in recent weeks has shown a stead round of upticks of communities into the Red Zone status, was delayed.
Further, word of the delay was announced this afternoon at roughly the same time when the weekly report is typically released.
No word, however, for the delay was provided, much less any word as to what time the report might be released tomorrow.
The COVID-19 Weekly Public Health Report to be published today (Thursday, November 5) does not include the town by town information, including the weekly listing of city and town risk levels. We will publish updated data on Friday, November 6. pic.twitter.com/fwU7HkBKp8

Regardless, it is only fair to note that a late Friday afternoon weekly report release would help bury the expected latest COVID-19 bad news into a weekend news cycle which will surely be white hot with media coverage of the still up in the air presidential election as well as related incendiary commentary about it from other sources.
Moreover, effective tomorrow, a new round of recommendations and mandates kick in tomorrow per an all but unreadable proclamation from Governor Baker. Hard to follow formal proclamation format notwithstanding, believe Quincy Quarry when it says that he is serious.
Deadly serious.
