The thirty-second annual Ostrich Festival has been postponed until next spring.

The COVID-19 claims another victim.  Chandler, Arizona’s Ostrich Festival has been postponed until March.

This beloved event celebrates the history of ostrich farming in Chandler.

That and has long been an excuse for many Phoenix metro area residents to have fun at this sly take on a country fair.

About the only good thing to be said about this COVID-19 pandemic-caused postponement is that March is a better time for snowbirds to seek some sun and fun in the Southwest.

While some question the potential for abuse of ostriches at this event, the reality is that the Ostrich Festival is far more of a traveling carnival event complete with rides, games, and junk food.

That and lay down some bets on the camel races.

After all, the camel also has a history in the Arizona Desert.
