Quincy Quarry Weekly Fish Wrap: Karma happens!

So do other things, but the buzzkills on Quincy Quarry News’ Standards and Practices Desk have had their knickers in a knot of late.

And speaking of knickers, the Koch Machine has yet again given the City Council a group wedgie over a councillor having the temerity to ask to be provided with consequential financial information for a change in support of a $14 million appropriation ask that had been promised to run no more than $5 million.

Some are born to a crown, others get one from Burger King.  A meme

Even by the lowly standards of play by Team Koch, this instance set a new low as regards arrogance in its formal response to any only valid ask for information.

Gobsmackingly imperious arrogance:

“When the mayor submits an appropriation request, that is the clear indication that the administration considers the specific project, in this case a learning center for our young people with special educational needs, a priority.

In other words, swive the City Council in spite of the fact that the council is designated to be in charge of both vetting and approving  – or not – any and all appropriations involving local tax dollars.

Amazingly and probably given local history and recent national events, Karma then quickly came around to dispense her unique brand of justice.

Wicked quickly.

One of four peaceful Quincy Black Lives Matter protest events

Specifically, a columnist at the Boston Broadsheet duly called out Quincy Mayor Tom Koch as being ethnically indifferent to a point well past insensitive as regards how Black Lives Matter not appear to matter to him.

That and how is he is also arguably a boundaries blowing past religious zealot in spite the constitutional mandate for a separation of church and state in his role as mayor on top of his looking to be a religious hypocrite as regards Matthew 7:12 and Luke 6:31

Then again, given the considerable membership of senior Koch Maladministration figures in a men’s (only, ed.) prayer group at the mayor’s parish and which he is said to be an ostensible group leader, the mayor’s display of at least indifferent insularity when as regards respecting religious diversity should come as no great surprise.

Particularly telling about his insularity, if not also further appalling, is Mayor Koch’s overweening old school views about how heavy handed law and order should still be the rule of the day today.

Mistreat anyone, dishonor everyone

So what, apparently, for the fact that local protests about valid concerns about racial injustice and worse have been respectfully conducted in concert with the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther Kings, Jr’s admonitions that peaceful protest for what is only right is the right way to go.

That and how he then concurrently walked the walk.

Then again, when someone else is well past merely self-absorbed, others’ lives don’t matter.
