The Boston Red Sox are the first team to be eliminated from the playoffs this COVID-19 pandemic shortened season.
As if 2020 did not already suck more than enough already, the Boston Red Sox are the first team to be mathematically eliminated from having a shot at making the Major League Baseball playoffs this season.
Then again, it is not like Sox fans have enjoyed much of a season or much of anything else this year.
Even worse, the New England Patriots have yet to hit the gridiron this season for the first time in twenty years without Tom Brady on the roster, the Bruins were bounced from the NHL playoffs last week, and the Boston Celtics are looking flat in their semi-final conference playoff series with the Toronto Raptors.
It's official: the Red Sox are the first to be eliminated from playoff consideration. Fortunately, for team management and ownership, the pandemic has precluded fans from attending games at Fenway. @dick_nixon https://t.co/Cgwas0mSWw
