Release the Kraken!
While the suspended National Hockey League season given the COVID-19 pandemic is still pending resumption, the impending new professional hockey team in Seattle has announced its team name: The Kraken.
While said to be but a mythical sea monster, the Kraken is purportedly the most fearsome creature from the briny deep.
That and apparently, going with Orca was not fearsome enough even if they are commonly seen in the ocean waters around Seattle.
Then again, given all of the controversy involving the team name of the NFL team in Washington DC, perhaps the Kraken team ownership did not wish to risk fueling the ire of PETA by going with Orca as the team name.
In any event, the Kraken’s marketing team has already rolled out social media promotional material.
A legend from the deep awakens.

So what, apparently, for the fact that not even merely but one Kraken has hit the ice of a hockey rink, much less has ever actually been seen other than digitally.
